Along with Homo Homini Lupus by Matteo Rovere, Elisa Fuksas' Please, Leave a Message - which premiered at the 15th edition of ARCIPELAGO, last June - was awarded the Silver Ribbon for 2007, in the short films category.
Assigned every year by the Italian Film Journalists Guild (SNGCI), the prestigious acknowledgement (a sort of Italian Golden Globe) has been announced yesterday during a ceremony held at the Trevi Movie Theater, in Rome.
However, the short film directed by Elisa Fuksas - a very young filmmaker on the verge of her debut with a feature film, Round Trip, which has just been funded by the Ministry of Culture - wasn't the only one to find its way to the Ribbons following a first encounter with the audience of ARCIPELAGO.
Indeed, among the five nominated films, the amazing Emanuela Rossi's Il bambino di Carla, which won our last National Short Films Competition, has also got an acknowledgement (a first film's special mention), as well as Forme by Stefano Viali (special mention for the story), while the twelve films shortlisted by journalist and film critic Maurizio Di Rienzo also included Miranda's Journey by Catherine McGilvray, Leo D'Agostini's Sangre de perro and Fulvio Molena's Va tutto bene, starring Valerio Mastandrea.
All films - 50% of the nominated works, and three out five palmarés - have premiered at the Intrastevere Multiscreen, during ARCIPELAGO 2007, in the ConCorto competition.
