Peter Sellers, or: how I learned to stop worrying and love short films. Thirty years after his unexpected death, on July 24, 1980, when he was just 55 years old, the 18th edition of ARCIPELAGO – International Festival of Short Films and New Images, at the Intrastevere Multiscreen in Rome from June 18 to 24, will celebrate the popular British actor. It will be a “short” homage to an unrivalled master of comedy with his many characters – from Doctor Strangelove to The Pink Panther and The Party. The most attended Italian festival of short films will actually present some works as absolute Italian premieres.

Autore tra i più importanti di cinema di animazione a livello internazionale, Simone Massi presenterà l'11 Maggio alle 21, alla Sala Trevi di Roma, Poesia bianca. Il cinema di Simone Massi, volume + dvd curato da Roberto Della Torre e edito da Fondazione Cineteca Italiana.

Formatosi presso l'Istituto Statale d'Arte di Urbino, Massi realizza il suo primo film, Immemoria, nel 1995. Da allora ha realizzato 18 titoli - tra cui Nuvole, mani, selezionato alla Mostra di Venezia 2009 e nella rosa dei 5 corti in lizza per il premio David di Donatello - che hanno ottenuto premi e riconoscimenti in prestigiosi festival, tra cui ARCIPELAGO (Miglior Cortometraggio italiano nel 2002, con Tengo la posizione).
